Which puppy from the litter should it be?

I am always amazed with other "multi-coloured" breeds that the puppies are assigned to their new owners from day 1 after birth.
With Rhodesian Ridgebacks, we are lucky that the puppies generally all look very much the same. Of course, each puppy has its own peculiarities in appearance, be it a different ridge, white chest or toes, liver nose, etc. But on the whole, the puppies all look very similar.

I keep my list of interested parties so that the time of the enquiry, the desired sex and certain key points are recorded.
How the litter will turn out in terms of size, sex and possible "faults" can only be said after the birth itself. Therefore I cannot make any definite promises before the birth!

Once the litter is born, the number of puppies and their sexes are known - and an initial rough classification can be made. This means that I can give prospective buyers an initial promise of a male or a female.
However, I do not decide exactly which puppy it will be until the 6-7th week!
It is primarily up to me to decide which puppy will be given to which interested party. Of course, I take into account the wishes and, above all, the living situations of the prospective buyers!
Not every puppy is made for life in a big city, a family with lots of children, as an office dog, for Rhodesian Ridgebacks or generally for dog beginners etc.
As a breeder, I spend a lot of time with the puppies and know their characteristics and basic personalities.
